Iredele Ogunbayo- Innovation Lab for Policy Leadership in Agriculture and Food Security (PiLAF), University of Ibadan, Nigeria

Iredele is a Senior Researcher and Administrative Manager at the Innovation Lab for Policy Leadership in Agriculture & Food Security (PiLAF), University of Ibadan. He is a recipient of the Structural Transformation of African and Asian Agriculture and Rural Spaces (STAAARS+) Fellowship 2022/2023 Cohorts Award at Dyson School of Applied Economics & Management, Cornell University Ithaca, New York, USA. He is also an affiliate member of the Collaborative for Econometrics and Integrated Development Studies (CEIDS) at Kellogg Institute for International Studies, University of Notre Dame, USA. He is the General Secretary of the Nigerian Association of Macroeconomic Modellers (NAMM).

Within 8 years of working in the research and agricultural development space, he has led several multi-country studies on Africa’s agrifood system. He has worked as a consultant to World Fish. Iredele has acquired extensive experience in conducting stacked surveys at the national level. His research interests include agricultural policy, food security, resilience, conflict, energy economics, and value chain analysis. Iredele had a ten-year stint working in Nigeria’s banking sector. He holds a BSc and MSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan (UI). He is currently a Doctoral student at UI. He also holds an MBA from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He is a prominent chess administrator in Nigeria.
