Megatrends and the Future of African Economies

The Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System (ReSAKSS) supports efforts to promote evidence and outcome-based policy planning and implementation as part of the CAADP agenda. In particular, ReSAKSS provides data and related analytical and knowledge products to facilitate benchmarking, review and mutual learning processes. ReSAKSS holds annual conferences to invite agricultural researchers to present and discuss their findings. ReSAKSS also publishes an annual outlook, based on the material presented at the conference.
Lulama N. Traub, ReNAPRI’s Technical Committee Chair, presented on current megatrends impacting African economies, the possible implications of these trends, and policy recommendations on addressing potential challenges. Her presentation is the result of a ReNAPRI collaborative research project. The co-authors are representatives of Michigan State University, ReNAPRI, University of Pretoria and University of Zambia.
