    • Integrated Seed Sector Development Conference 2016 | 19th – 20th September 2016 | Nairobi, Kenya.
      • The conference was the capstone event on a two-year research project, “Integrated Seed Sector Development (ISSD) Africa Program”, and provided an opportunity for the research findings to be disseminated and discussed. The aim of the project is to improve smallholder farmers’ access to quality seed, and to better understand the challenges faced in meeting this goal.

    • Equilibrium Model Training for Government Officials | 15th – 19th August 2016 | Maputo, Mozambique
      • Government representatives from the Central Bank, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Tax Authority of Mozambique were trained how to interpret and use evidence-based research to advise on policy matters.

    • Baseline Agricultural Outlook 2017-2026 Annual Launch | August 2017 | South Africa
      • BFAP hosts an launch to present their Annual Baseline Agricultural Outlook to the private and public sector, as well as academics within the agricultural sector. The report provides an economic outlook for crops, animal and horticultural products, and the job-market within the agriculture sector. This event is held at University of Pretoria and in the Western Cape.

    • “Supporting Smallholder Farmers in Southern Africa to Better Manage Climate Related Risks to Crop Production and Post-harvest Handling” Project Launch | December 2016 | Morogoro, Tanzania
  • Makerere University
    • 7th International Course on Climate Change Adaptation in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management | 30th January – 10th February 2017 | Kampala, Uganda
      • The course is aimed at equipping participants with a full understanding of climate change adaptation concepts and how to contribute to the debate on climate change adaptation, either in the policy process and/or in providing knowledge to the policy process. The training attracted 34 international students from Latin America, East Africa, West Africa and Asia; including Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, as well as Colombia, Bangladesh and Vietnam.
    • Agricultural Research and Innovation for Socio-Economic Transformation Conference | 21th – 24th November 2016 | Kampala, Uganda
      • The Conference was co-hosted with the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO), and designed to create a platform for research focused on agricultural transformation. This event hosted over 500 participants from across Africa, and range of stakeholders: farmers, policymakers, private sector, civil society, development partners and government institutions within the agriculture sector.
