Climate Change
The precise impacts of climate change are still highly uncertain and are likely to vary significantly across the region, but two general predictions are that much of Africa will experience greater variability in agricultural production and possibly a decline in crop productivity. ReNAPRI and its Member Institutes provide empirical evidence to inform the discussions and offer relevant policy recommendations regarding climate change and its impact on the agriculture sector. Sub-topics include: farmland expansion and degradation, irrigation practices, fertilizer use and subsidy programs, seed programs, and farming practices adopted by smallholder farmers.
