Timothy Njagi- Partial Equilibrium Specialist

Timothy Njagi is a seasoned Development Economist with a wealth of experience in the fields of development planning, policy implementation and research. He has undertaken policy research and analysis in agriculture, rural and food systems in Kenya. He has published in peer reviewed journals and is a regular commentator on policy issues on agriculture and food systems in Sub Saharan Africa.

He is the Partial Equilibrium Specialist at Modelling Services Centre at the African Network of Agricultural Policy Research Institutes (ANAPRI). He was previously a senior researcher at Tegemeo Institute of Agricultural Policy and Development, where he led several research studies in Kenya and the region. He has also worked at the National Treasury and Planning in Kenya as an Economist.

His current research focus is on agricultural productivity, technology adoption, governance and efficiency of agricultural systems, climate resilience and evaluation.

Tim holds a PhD in Development Economics and Master’s Degree in International Development from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Japan.

He aspires to make a significant contribution towards addressing food insecurity and poverty in developing countries.
